Rhyll will showcase its inaugural wooden boat festival 2-4 march 2018 in a weekend loaded with events, entertainment and attractions from sunrise to dusk in a carnivalesque environment. rhyll community is encouraging all weekend adventurers, families and friends to come together to enjoy a unique picturesque weekend out.. A free community event celebrating 150 years of settlement on phillip island, featuring: a fabulous display of wooden boats both on land and in water, yacht racing, maritime history multimedia display and knot tying, art exhibition, street market, model boats, classic cars and vintage caravans, youth boat-building workshop, classic ferries, live music, pirate trail, and street performers.. The rhyll wooden boat festival was the first feature event on the phillip island 150th celebration year calendar, and i was proud to see businesses and council throw their support behind the event, and the result was magnificent..
Bought by charlie richardson of rhyll c1954, and has been at rhyll ever since, being used at various times as a fishing party boat, amateur fishing boat and professional fishing boat. re-rigged with a lug rig by ken wood c1959, with help of mitch lacco who made a new mainsail for her..
