Re: my boat has hard time getting on a plane make sure you have the right prop. first. then i would look at excessive weight in the back of the boat like mentioned before. it could be a weak engine for whatever reason. if everything checks out, you could get trim tabs or simply put some weight in the front of the boat.. You got your boat and, from the moment you pulled away from the dealership, it’s attained a certain speed. but if you’ve got a craving for more, you’re going to try to make it go faster, perform better and run more efficiently. ok, you just want to go faster.. Doing this will bring the front of the boat a bit out of the water and improve the performance of the boat. #3. ski or tube in groups. price: free | performance gains: medium to high. if ya really wanna get the ultimate ride, it’ll be tough when your boat’s loaded down with 10-12 passengers..
I am considering purchasing a hydrofoil to get my boat on plane quicker, i have a 94 90hp mariner on a 16' fiberglass vhaul starcraft. i took it out yesterday and it takes about 14/ to get it on plane, then once on plane it gets up to about 40mph (top speed) no problem.. They are supposed to get boats on plane faster & save on fuel consumption also. they come both in one piece & 2 pieces that will bolt directly onto the lower unit. they are to help keep better control while on plane & by eliminating porpoising & chinewalking.. Scott martin shows you why bob's "action jack" jackplate is amazing! durable and fast under power! the hydraulic plate will make your boat go faster and have much greater performance..
